Armory to Face Alleged License Violations Monday

The Somerville Licensing Commission will hold a hearing about alleged violations at the Armory are said to have taken place in April and May.

Representatives for The Center for Arts at the Armory are expected to go before the Somerville Licensing Commission Monday for a hearing about alleged license violations at the cultural venue.

The Armory was originally scheduled to go before the Licensing Commission on July 15, but the hearing was postponed.

According to a Licensing Commission agenda, the Armory allegedly violated rules that say, to paraphrase:

  • License holders must ensure their patrons leave the premises in an orderly manner
  • No outside area may be used as a waiting area or gathering place
  • License holders must ensure a high degree of supervision over its establishment
  • No entertainment may take place and no member of the public may enter a premises outside approved operating hours

The violations allegedly occurred on April 20 and May 18.
