Thirty people were arrested – including 22-year-old Carl Saccoccio of Somerville – in a massive heroin raid in Lawrence on Thursday.

According to The Eagle-Tribune, detectives from numerous communities, including Methuen, Lawrence, Andover, North Andover, Haverhill and Salem, N.H., participated in the sweep, along with the FBI, Massachusetts State Police and the Essex County Sheriff's Department.

A series of heroin overdoses have been reported recently in Salem and Portsmouth, N.H., and Salisbury. One of those people later died. Police have said the overdoses could be linked to a lethal batch of heroin out of Lawrence.

Saccoccio, of 31 Aberdeen Road, was charged with possession of heroin.
