Somerville Man Arrested in Brookline on Driving Charge

Brookline Police allege that Eugene Zuser made an unsafe lane change, was driving with an expired license last week.

A Somerville man was arrested last week in Brookline after an early morning driving infraction.

According to police, Eugene Zuser, 53, of Somerville, was arrested at 1 a.m. on Feb. 4, and charged with operating with an expired license (not duly) and cited for passing unsafely.

At around midnight, while conducting traffic enforcement at Harvard and Green streets, an officer observed a black SUV “make an unsafe lane change.” The officer pulled the vehicle, a Ford Edge, over at Harvard and Beacon streets.

The driver, Zuser, reportedly gave his license to the officer and the officer contacted dispatch and ran a check on him. A dispatcher, however, revealed that his license had expired on Jan. 31.

Other officers arrived at the scene to assist the reporting officer and Zuser was taken into custody.
