Report: Man Shoplifts Almost $500 Worth of Electronics and Two Donut Sticks

He allegedly tried to walk out of Kmart with DVD players, MP3 players, watches ... and donuts.

A homeless man tried to walk out of Kmart with nearly $500 worth of electronics and two donut sticks, according to a Somerville police report.

According to the report, Carlos Carrion-Rosa, 44, of Cambridge, walked into the Kmart in Assembly Square at about 1:40 p.m. Saturday, grabbed a cart and pretended to shop.

He put seven MP3 players, two DVD players and three watches into the shopping cart, and he eventually transferring them into a sports bag and tried to walk out of the store without paying, the report says.

Security officers stopped him as he left the store and discovered he had about $491 worth of goods, including the two donut sticks.

Police arrested Carrion-Rosa, and he was charged with shoplifting.
