Report: Man Brandishes Sword at Car Wash to Cut in Line

Waving a sword, a Somerville man allegedly told car washers, "If you don't move there will be a problem," according to a police report.

A Somerville man who wanted to wash his pickup truck pulled a sword on other customers at a car wash, according allegations in a Somerville Police report.

Police arrested 38-year-old Raul Parra, of 137 Pearl St., in connection to the incident, according to the report.

Witnesses told police that on Nov. 9 at around 4 p.m. they were in the self-service car wash bays at 31 Washington St. when Parra drove up in his truck, the report says.

According to one witness, Parra said, "Are you going to move the car?"

One of the people in the bays said, "They aren't done washing their cars," and that led to an argument, witnesses told police.

Parra allegedly pulled out a sword from the back seat of his truck and unsheathed it in a threatening manner.

"If you don't move there will be a problem," he said, according to witness accounts in the police report.

After one of the victims became fearful and moved his car, Parra put the sword back in its sheath, pulled into the car wash bay and said, "I will remember your face," according to the report.

A witness called 911, and police arrived and arrested Parra, the report says.
He was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Please remember that allegations contained in police reports do not indicate a conviction.
