Police: Man in Mercedes Hid Crack Cocaine in ‘Derriere’

A Malden man accused of selling crack cocaine hid the drugs in his "derriere," according to a Somerville police report.

When police pulled the man over in his red Mercedes at the intersection of Mystic Avenue and McGrath Highway, he was "squeezing the cheeks of his derriere" to such a degree that police didn’t discover the 21 bags of crack allegedly stored in the orifice until a thorough search at the police station, according to the report.

Police arrested the man—Jamil Bowden, known as "Mils," 20, of 166 Washington St., Malden—on July 19 at about 5:50 p.m. after an investigation into his alleged cocaine dealing operation, the report says. The Cambridge Police Department Special Investigations Unit and the Medford Police Department Drug Control Unit assisted the Somerville Police Department Drug Control Unit in the arrest.

Charolette Kennedy, 21, of Everett, was also arrested in connection to the drug operation, the report says.

According to the report, the investigation team arranged to make staged drug buy from Bowden and put him under surveillance before the scheduled meeting.

Bowden allegedly stopped briefly at a home on Marshall Street before he drove off, with Kennedy in the passenger seat of his Mercedes, the report says.

Police surveillance units observed the two drive along Temple Street and then onto Mystic Avenue, according to the report.

While in traffic on Mystic Avenue, police allegedly observed Bowden "lean forward and place his left hand to the rear buttocks region of his person," the report says.

Police pulled the car over, and they saw Kennedy place something in her mouth that turned out to be a SIM card from Bowden's cell phone, the report alleges.

Police found Bowden with a knife and about an ounce of marijuana, but they were unable to search his buttocks area because he was squeezing his cheeks too hard, the report says.

Back at the station, police were able to conduct a search in a private setting, and they found a clear plastic bag that contained 21 smaller bags holding a substance believed to be crack cocaine, according to the report.

Bowden was charged with drug possession to distribute, drug possession, drug violation near a school and park, conspiracy to violate drug law and possession of a dangerous weapon.
