Police Make Drug Arrest After Surveillance of East Broadway Residence

A Roslindale man was caught with Percocet pills, according to a police report.

Somerville police, after putting an East Broadway residence under surveillanc, arrested a 25-year-old Roslindale man Friday on charges of drug possession.

Bryan Espinal was arrested near the intersection of Illinois Avenue and Broadway at about 12:40 p.m., according to a police report.

The report says the Somerville Police Department Drug Control Unit was conducing surveillance of a residence around the area of Broadway and Franklin Street. The surveillance was part of an ongoing investigation into illegal drug activity, according to the report.

Investigators watched Espinal go into the residence and then leave, according to the report. He matched the description, given by a confidential source, as an individual involved in drug distribution at the residence, the report says.

When they stopped his 2001 Subaru and asked him what he'd been doing, he told police he was traveling from the CambridgeSide Galleria Mall to Hyde Park, which is in the opposite direction, the report says.

Police conducted a search and found him with six pills believed to be Percocet, according to the report.
