Police Investigate Daylight Sexual Assault Near Porter Square, Seek Information

Police are investigating a sexual assault that took place in broad daylight near Porter Square Monday, according to an announcement from the Somerville Police Department.

The assault took place between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. around Sartwell Avenue and Ashland Street, according to the announcement. This is in the area of the John F. Kennedy Elementary School.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Somerville police at (617) 625-1212. Police also urge people to call 911 if they see anything suspicious.

Somerville Police Investigate Woman Assaulted

The Somerville Police Department has received limited information regarding a sexual assault that occurred on Monday, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, in the vicinity of Ashland Street and Sartwell Avenue.  The only description of the suspect is that he is a white male, between 5’6” to 6-00 feet tall.  There is no further description of the suspect at this time.  Somerville Police Detectives and the Middlesex District Attorney’s office have been working jointly to develop further information.
