Police Booking Log: Man Arrested in Johnny's Foodmaster Parking Lot on Heroin Charges

The following arrest information was supplied by the Somerville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests made by the Somerville Police Department from Sept. 18 to Sept. 23. Please remember that the charges listed below do not indicate a conviction.

Assault and battery

On Sept. 19, James Papa, 44, and Nicole Papa, 19, both of 16 Broadway, were arrested at that address and charged with assault and battery. James Papa was also arrested on warrants for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating under the influence of drugs and driving with a suspended license.

On Sept. 20, Dennys Pereira, 17, of Medford, and Moises Rodriguez, 19, of Malden, were arrested on Pearl Street and charged with assault to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Both were accused of getting in a fight with a baseball-bat wielding victim who was stabbed during the fight.

On Sept. 21, Aaron McGee, 21, of 15 Glenwood Rd., was arrested at 1366 Broadway and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, threatening to commit crime and resisting arrest.

On Sept. 23, Richard Medeiros, 33, of Lowell, was arrested at 78 Marshall St. and charged with assault and battery.

Drug-related arrests

On Sept. 18, Carl Barnhill, 44, of 23 Windsor Rd., was arrested at 1364 Broadway and charged with resisting arrest and drug possession. He was also arrested on a warrant for larceny. According to a police report, narcotics officers observed Barnhill walking through the parking lot of Johnny's Foodmaster in West Somerville, which has an "historical reputation" for being the location of drug use and distribution. Barnhill was known to police because was previously arrested and charged with possessing heroin. According to the report, officers discovered that Barnhill was wanted on a warrant, and when they tried to arrest him he resisted. The report says officers saw him place two baggies filled with what they believed to be heroin on the ground. 

Other arrests

On Sept. 19, Marcus Robinson, 22, of Dorchester, was arrested at 84 Washington St. and charged with disorderly conduct and possession of a dangerous weapon.

On Sept. 20, John Igo, 50, of 252 Powderhouse Blvd., was arrested at 175 Fellsway and charged with trespassing.

On Sept. 20, Diego Morales, 32, was arrested at 299 Broadway and charged with disorderly conduct and violating an open container law.

On Sept. 22, Kevin Newton, 50, of Cambridge, was arrested at 243 Elm St. and charged with violating an open container law, resisting arrest and shoplifting.

On Sept. 23, Daniel Joseph, 21, of Cambridge, was arrested at 297 Medford St. and charged with disorderly conduct.

On Sept. 23, Evanildo Morte, 39, of Lowell, was arrested at 30 Washington St. and charged with disorderly conduct.

On Sept, 23, Josemberg Oliveira, 31, of Malden, was arrested at 30 Washington St. and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Warrant arrests

On Sept. 18, Marc Russell, 31, of 2 Mt. Vernon St., was arrested on Broadway on a warrant for unarmerd robbery.

On Sept. 18, Jillian Latham, 29, of Gloucester, was arrested at 15 Weston Ave. on warrants for operating under the influence of drugs, drug possession, having a child under 6 without a carseat and not being in possession of a registration.

On Sept. 19, Michael Manning, 44, of Roslindale, was arrested on Newton Street on warrants for using a motor vehicle without authority, destruction of property, possession of burglarious instruments, larceny, trespassing, failure to wear a seatbelt, driving with a suspended license and concealment of a stolen motor vehicle.

On Sept. 20, John Ahern, 60, of 20 Everett Ave. was arrested at that address on a warrant for statutory rape of a child.

On Sept. 21, Quinn McLean, 30, of Malden, was arrested at 14 Broadway on warrants for driving with a suspended license and drug possession.

On Sept. 21, Stephen Marcelin, 18, of Cambridge, was arrested at 1040 Broadway on a warrant for driving with a suspended license and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

On Sept. 21, Louis Walker, 37, of Boston, was arrested at 35 Memorial Rd. on warrants for violating an abuse prevention order, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, assault and battery and failure to dim headlights.
