Police Booking Log: Man Yanks Gold Chain Off Woman's Neck at Bus Stop

The following arrest information was supplied by the Somerville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests made by the Somerville Police Department from Sept. 11 to Sept. 16. Please remember that the charges listed below do not indicate a conviction.

Assault and battery

On Sept. 12, Noberto Bairos, 51, of 259A Broadway, was arrested at 261 Broadway and charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. According to a police report, he is accused of threatening a roommate with a knife.

On Sept. 13, Ayesha Muhammad, 28, of 28 Temple St., and a juvenile from Natick were arrested at 14 Otis St. and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The juvenile is accused of pushing down a police officer who came to issue a warrant to a man at 14 Otis St. Muhammad is also accused of pushing an officer.

On Sept. 16, Christopher Tardo, 29, of 62 Bradlee St., was arrested at that address and charged with assault and battery.

On Sept. 16, Joshua Manchester, 21, of 45A Memorial Rd., was arrested on Medford Street. and charged with assault and battery and violating an abuse prevention order.

On Sept. 16, Berthony Jean Baptiste, 20, of 259 Somerville Ave., was arrested at 30 Lower Campus Rd. by the Tufts Police Department and charged with indecend assault and battery, trespassing and furnishing a false name to police.

Larceny, theft and shoplifting

On Sept. 12, James Deming, 27, of 107 Perkins St., was arrested on Hathorn Street and charged with unarmed robbery. He was also arrested on warrants for resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer. According to allegations in a police report, a couple and their 8-year-old son were waiting at the bus stop near 60 Broadway on Sept. 11 when Deming lunged at the woman and ripped the gold chain off her neck. He then fled down Lincoln Street and onto Perkins Street, the report says. On Sept. 12, police found him on Broadway again, and a witness identified him as the suspect from the necklace robbery, according to the report.

On Sept. 13, Lisa Splaine, 47, was arrested on Tower Street and charged with larceny from a building and credit card fraud.

On Sept. 16, Shana Manzi, 25, of Nashua, N.H., was arrested at 74 Washington St. and charged with larceny. She was also arrested on warrants for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating with a suspended license, failing to stop for police, speeding, marked lanes violation, larceny, credit card larceny, shoplifting, defacing property, receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct, assault and battery and receiving a stolen motor vehicle.

Drug-related arrests

On Sept. 11, Filipos Moba, 28, of 432 Norfolk St., was arrested on Windsor Street and charged with drug distribution and drug violation near a school or park. He is accused of dealing Percocet and was arrested after an investigation by AFT agents and Somerville police.

On Sept. 14, Duvinson Norestant, 20, of 106 Boston Ave., was arrested on Boston Avenue and charged with drug possession.

On Sept. 14, James Woods, 27, of Malden, was arrested on Broadway and charged with drug possession.

Operating under the influence

On Sept. 15, Tiffany Love, 23, of 170 Walnut St., was arrested at 46 Medford St. and charged with operating under the influence of liquor.

On Sept. 16, Luis Ramos, 44, of 1 Montrose St., was arrested on Avon Street and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of property damage, possessing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. According to allegations in a police report, Ramos drove into a parked car on Summer Street, dragging it onto the sidewalk. The report says he threw punches at witnesses who tried to stop him from fleeing.

Warrant arrests

On Sept. 11, Scott Nichols, 22, of 162 Lowell St., was arrested at that address as a courtesy booking for another department.

On Sept. 12, Angel Dejesus, 36, of 3 Adams St., was arrested on Inner Belt Road on warrants for trespassing and assault and battery.

On Sept. 13, Sarah Hubauer, 27, of Malden, was arrested at 175 Fellsway on warrants for larceny.

On Sept. 15, Shawn Sullivan, 22, of North Andover, was arrested at 463 McGrath Highway on a warrant for operating under the influence of liquor.

On Sept. 16, Marie Coady, 62, of 4 Washington Ave., was arrested at that address on a warrant for operating under the influence of drugs.
