Police Booking Log: Man Driving with Stolen License Plates Gets Arrested

The following information was supplied by the Somerville Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests made by the Somerville Police Department from Sept. 16 to Sept. 22. Please remember that the charges listed below do not indicate a conviction.

Assault and battery


On Sept. 20, Laura Devereaux, 43, of 103 Marion St., was arrested at that address and charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

On Sept. 22, Cassy Wills, 24, of Stow, was arrested on Grand Union Boulevard and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. She is accused of creating a disturbance at a performance of Cavalia's Odysseo and then kicking a police officer.

On Sept. 22, Mario Medeiros, 59, of 22 Carlton St., was arrested on Kilby Street and charged with indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over. In an effort to protect victims, it is the policy of the Somerville Police Department not to release information about indecent assaults unless there is a need to inform the public about a possible danger.

Breaking and entering


On Sept. 18, Matthew McComiskey, 33, of 46 Richdale Ave., was arrested at that address and charged with breaking and entering, possession of burglarious instruments and violating an abuse prevention order.

On Sept. 22, Christina Cameron, 28, was arrested at 19 Madison St. and charged with breaking and entering. She was also arrested on warrants for breaking and entering and for driving an uninsured vehicle or trailer.

Larceny, theft and shoplifting


On Sept. 16, Albert Morales, 42, of Watertown, was arrested at 180 Somerville Ave. and charged with shoplifting and trespassing.

On Sept. 19, James Morales, 32, was arrested at 15 Webster Ave. and charged with receiving stolen property, driving with a child under 6 not in a car seat and driving with a suspended license. He was also arrested on a warrant for driving with a suspended license. According to a police report, Morales was caught driving a white Ford van with license plates that had been stolen from a white Chevy van owned by Enterprise Rental Car. According to the report, Morales told police his van was new and didn't have plates, so he took the Enterprise plates and hoped to return them before anyone noticed.

Warrant arrests


On Sept. 16, Steven Luongo, 51, of Hampton, NH, was arrested at 775 McGrath Highway on a warrant for disorderly conduct.

On Sept. 17, Shawn Smith, 20, of 25 River Rd., was arrested at 35 Temple St. on warrants for extortion, witness intimidation and armed robbery.

On Sept. 19, Asfha Bekhit, 27, was arrested on Bonner Avenue on warrants for failing to stop or yield, driving an uninsured vehicle or trailer and driving with a suspended registration.
