Police Booking Log: Malden Shoplifter Targets Target

The following information was supplied by the Somerville Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests made by the Somerville Police Department from July 29 to Aug. 5. Please remember that the charges listed below do not indicate a conviction.

Assault and battery


On July 31, Robert Gualtieri, 37, of 7 Curtis St., was arrested at that address and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and violating an abuse prevention order.

On Aug. 3, Mikael Bialek-Prado, 26, of New York, was arrested at 225 Highland Ave. and charged with assault and battery.

Larceny, theft and shoplifting


On July 31, Maxine Davis, 49, of Cambridge, was arrested at 14 McGrath Highway and charged with shoplifting.

On July 31, Norman Jimenez, 34, of Malden, was arrested at 180 Somerville Ave. and charged with larceny. According to a police report, the loss prevention officer at Target received a phone call from his colleague at the Target in Watertown to say there was a shoplifting suspect focusing his efforts on Target stores in the area, and that the suspect had just left the Watertown store. The loss prevention officer in Somerville noticed a customer who matched the description, according to the report. The report says the loss prevention officer watched the suspect—Jimenez—pocket a wristwatch and rip a cell phone out of its display case and put that in his pocket, too.

Drug-related arrests


On Aug. 3, Leanne Belanger, 24, of Chelsea, was arrested at 77 Middlesex Ave. and charged with drug possession and larceny. According to a police report, Belanger is accused of trying to shoplift $666 worth of merchandise from Kmart, and when she was caught the loss prevention officer discovered she had Clonidine, Clonazepan, Mebaral and Quetiapine pills.

On Aug. 4, Edward Kalisiak, 34, of Newton, was arrested at 709 McGrath Highway and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and drug possession. He is accused of breaking traffic laws while driving a scooter without a license and tossing aside a syringe filled with heroin when a police officer pulled him over.

Operating under the influence


On Aug. 2, Moira Harding, 31, of 18 Montrose St., was arrested on Central Street and charged with driving under the influence of liquor.


Driving without a license


On July 29, Ricardo Vasquez, 36, of Waltham, was arrested at 162 Central St. and charged with driving with a suspended license.

On July 30, Jose Hernandez, 38, of Medford, was arrested at 197 Cedar St. and charged with leaving the scene of property damage and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. According to a police report, Hernandez crashed into two cars on Cedar Street and then tried to drive away.

On Aug. 3, Shawn Daley, 41, of Westford, was arrested at 337 Broadway and charged with driving with a revoked license, attaching wrong motor vehicle plates and driving an unregistered motor vehicle. He was also arrested on warrants for larceny.

Other arrests


On July 31, Henry Flores, 23, of 20 Brook St., was arrested on Brook Street and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon.

On Aug. 5, Michael Marujo, 49, of 88 Avon St., was arrested at 30 Linden St. and charged with violating an abuse prevention order.

Warrant arrests


On Aug. 1, Gregory Moulton, 22, of 326 Somerville Ave., was arrested at 400 Somerville Ave. on warrants for check forgery, larceny and uttering a false check.

On Aug. 2, Mark Anderson, 53, of Medford, was arrested at 175 Fellsway on a warrant for operating under the influence of liquor.

On Aug. 3, Michael Gangas, 29, of 24 Dana St., was arrested at 125 Broadway and charged with breaking and entering and receiving stolen property.
