On Aug. 12, Jose Salamanca-Flores, 21, of 204 Pearl St., was arrested at 202 Pearl St. and charged with receiving stolen property. He was also arrested on warrants for defacing property and unarmed burglary. According to a police report, Salamanca-Flores is accused of having two stolen laptops. The two victims who owned the laptops noticed the computers were missing when their smart phones alerted them to strange Facebook status updates someone was making on their accounts, according to the report. They looked around for their laptops and soon realized the were stolen, the report says. Apparently the back door to their apartment was unlocked during the day. Salamanca-Flores told the officer someone else had given him the laptops, the report says. "He did me wrong," Salamanca-Flores said about that person, whom he described as a "klepto," according to the report.
