Police Booking Log: Juvenile Says It's Okay to Steal Bikes that Aren't Locked

Arrests made by the Somerville Police Department from Nov. 4 to 8. Please remember that the charges listed below do not indicate a conviction.

Assault and battery


On Nov. 4, Anthony Cundiff, of Roxbury, was arrested at 480 Mystic Ave. and charged with assault and battery.

Arson


On Nov. 5, a juvenile from Somerville was arrested at 60 Bow St. and charged with burning a motor vehicle. In connection to the same incident, on Nov. 6, Paul Gambardello, 18, of Dorchester, was arrested in Boston on a warrant for burning a motor vehicle. They are accused of lighting two cars on fire in Union Square.

Larceny, theft and shoplifting


On Nov. 5 a juvenile from Somerville was arrested on Kilby St. and charged with larceny. According to a police report, the juvenile stole a bike from the Target bike rack. The bike was handmade, according to the victim, who said it cost him $500 to build. Police were able to identify the juvenile after watching security footage at Target, the report says. When officers showed up at the juvenile's home, he was wearing the same clothes as in the security footage, and he also had the bike, according to the report. It says the juvenile told police that since the bike wasn't locked, it was fair game to take. However, it turns out the bike was locked, the report says.

On Nov. 8, Alexis Mercado, 41, of Cambridge, was arrested at 180 Somerville Ave. and charged with shoplifting. According to a police report, Mercado shoplifted $17.18 worth of items, including Dr. Scholl's shoe inserts, from Target.

Sexual conduct for a fee


On Nov. 6, Sonetta Gibbs, 23, of Oak Grove, Calif., was arrested at 23 Cummings St. and charged with sexual conduct for a fee. According to a police report, investigators were led to Gibbs after following up on an Internet classified ad.

Other arrests


On Nov. 4, Daniel Percival, 31, of 46 Marshall St., was arrested at that address and charged with violating an abuse prevention order.

Warrant arrests


On Nov. 6, Hendy Jeanniton, 34, of 142 Pearl St., was arrested on Pearl Street on a warrant for conspiracy to violate drug law.

On Nov. 7, Nathalie Pierre, 35, of 16 Otis St., was arrested at 345 Medford St. on warrants for driving with a suspended license and driving with a suspended registration.

On Nov. 8, Mario Correia, 61, of 68 Governor Winthrop Rd., was arrested on Broadway on warrants for driving with a suspended registration, driving an unlicensed motor vehicle or trailer and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

On Nov. 8, Casey Kolenda, 27, of 454 Medford St., was arrested at that address on warrants for failing to stop for police, driving with a suspended license, motor vehicle lights violation, driving with a revoked license, speeding, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and other driving offenses.
