Police Booking Log: Break-In Suspect Elbows Detective in Sternum

Arrests made by the Somerville Police Department from July 15 to July 21. Please remember that the charges listed below do not indicate a conviction.

Assault and battery


On July 17, Alex Gomes, 24, of 298 McGrath Highway, was arrested on Glen Street and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and receiving stolen property. According to a police report, Gomes and Vieira Magnuson, who was arrested on a separate warrant (see below), were suspects in an ongoing investigation into break-ins. The report says the two men ran when they saw a police cruiser, and that Gomes had a backpack. When police stopped the men, Gomes yelled obscenities, the report says. He tried to escape, and when police caught up with him he elbowed a detective in the sternum, the report says. It says he had a bag of coins in the backpack.

On July 21, Arnas Gudelis, 21, of 2 Hillside Avenue, was arrested at that address and charged with assault and battery.

Larceny and theft


On July 18, Jean Sainttrile, 18, of Cambridge, Bradley Sylvestre, 19, with no known address, and Jonathan Franklin, 20, with no known address, were arrested at 13 College Ave. and charged with armed robbery. They are accused of holding up a man and woman at gunpoint and stealing money, cell phones and a can of Altoids.

Operating under the influence


On July 19, Michael Skiba, 33, of Newton, was arrested at 81 Willow Ave. and charged with operating under the influence of liquor. According to a police report, an officer saw Skiba, who was driving down Morrison Avenue at about 10:45 p.m., hit a pedestrian-crossing sign that was in the middle of the road. Skiba then turned left onto Willow Avenue and drove down that street in the wrong direction for about 200 feet, the report says.

Driving without a license


On July 15, Leah Ferriabough, 28, of Malden, was arrested on Alewife Brook Parkway and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, attaching a wrong motor-vehicle plate and driving with a revoked registration.

Warrant arrests


On July 16, a juvenile from Medford Street was arrested at a Medford Street address on warrants for armed and masked robbery.

On July 17, Vieira Magnuson, 24, of 168 Walnut St., was arrested at 155 Cross St., on a warrant for driving with a suspended license.

On July 17, Ehron Souza, 19, of Everett, was arrested at 175 Fellsway on warrants for leaving the scene of property damage and operating under the influence of liquor.

On July 17, Ronnie Hamilton, 53, of Charlestown, was arrested at 393 Highland Ave. on a warrant for leaving the scene of property damage.

On July 18, Ellen Frith, 65, of 163 Summer St., was arrested at that address on a warrant for negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

On July 18, Edward Killoren, 41, of 585 Broadway, was arrested on Burnham Street on a warrant for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

On July 18, Jorge Ramos, 19, of 17 Autumn St., was arrested at 114 Broadway on warrants for assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

On July 18, Marcus Ellis, 25, of Cambridge, was arrested on Bailey Road on a warrant for failing to appear for jury duty.
