Police Arrest Two Men in Connection to Saturday Shooting

Two Chelsea men are being charged in a shooting that sent a man to the hospital.

Fonge Pierre, 32, of Chelsea and another Chelsea man have been arrested in connection to a that sent a 35-year-old man to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting took place at about 1:30 a.m. at 10 Illinois Ave. in East Somerville.

According to a news release from the Somerville Police Department, Somerville police worked with the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, State Police and Chelsea Police to identify suspects in the wake of the shooting.

Pierre has been charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, according to the news release. Pierre was also arrested on a warrant for unrelated drug charges from Everett, the release says.

Police are not naming the second suspect until he is formerly charged, according to the release.
