Police Arrest Two in Connection to Saturday Armed Carjacking

Police arrested Somerville residents and brothers Nelson Martinez and David Martinez.

Early Thursday morning, members of the Somerville Police Department, with assistance from tactical officers from the North East Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC), executed two arrest warrants at two separate residences in Somerville.  The warrants were authorized in connection with the investigation of an armed carjacking that occurred in Somerville on June 16th. 

Nelson Orlando Martinez, age 23, and his brother David A. Martinez, age 21,who  both gave an address of 551 Broadway in Somerville, were arrested without incident. The warrants were executed simultaneously at 551 Broadway and 640 Mystic Avenue. Both suspects were found at the Mystic Avenue address.
