Police: Alleged Prostitute Kicks Undercover Cop in Crotch

A 41-year-old Somerville woman being arrested on prostitution charges kicked an undercover officer in the "groin/testicular region" in an attempt to escape, according to a Somerville police report.

The alleged crotch kicking took place at around 6 p.m. May 18 at 306 Washington St., next to the , an elementary school near Union Square, according to the report.

The report says undercover officers with the Somerville Police drug and vice unit found an advertisement on Craigslist offering sexual services for a fee.

An undercover detective called the advertised number and arranged to meet a Somerville woman, Susan Resende, of 306 Washington St., for a $40 "car date," according to the report.

Once at the apartment, Resende allegedly invited the undercover detective inside, saying it would offer more comfort and security than a car, the report says.

The officer put the agreed-upon $40 on a bedside table, and Resende attempted to unzip his pants to perform a sexual act, according to the report. At this time, the undercover detective identified himself as a police officer, the report says.

According to the report, Resende, in response to this news, grabbed the $40, shoved the officer and attempted to flee. She "thrashed about" and tried to push the officer into the hallway so she could close the door, the report says.

The arrest team arrived, and while attempting to handcuff Resende, she allegedly kicked the undercover officer in the groin, according to the report.

The kick was forceful enough that the report's writer heard the undercover cop "verbally grunt," the report says.

Resende was arrested and charged with sexual conduct for a fee, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a police officer and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
