MS-13 Gangsters Attack Man in East Somerville

After swinging a chain at him, they kicked him, according to a police report.

A man walking home from Sullivan Station Thursday was attacked by three young men, at least two of them members of the MS-13 gang, according to details in a Somerville police report.

According the report, the victim told police he was walking home from the station sometime before 9:30 p.m. when he was approached by the three young men on Autumn Street. They asked him for a cigarette, the victim told police, and when he said he didn't have a cigarette, one of the young men said, "Give me a [expletive] cigarette."

The victim told them to get a job, according to his account in the police report.

They were in front of 160 Broadway by this point, and one of the young men took out a chain from his pocket and began swinging it several times at the victim, the report says.

The victim ran away, but tripped and fell on the ground, and when he was down, one of the males kicked him in the back, breaking through the skin, according to the report.

The victim managed to get up, run away and call police.

When police arrived, they found three males in the yard across from the victim's house, which, it turns out, was one of their hangouts, the report says. It says the males fled, but police found them.

Two were known MS-13 gang members, according to the report, and one had a chain attached to keys that, according to the victim, was the same chain used to attack him.

Police arrested that young male, a juvenile, and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon. The victim didn't see who kicked him.
