Man Tried to Filch $1600 Worth of Pipes From Home Depot, Say Police

The man allegedly tried to roll the copper pipes out of the store using a lumber cart.

Somerville police on July 2 arrested a man who allegedly tried to wheel $1637.90 worth of copper pipes out of the .

Police made the arrest at about 8:45 a.m., according to a police report.

The report says David Rowe, 32, of Dracutt, put the copper pipes into a lumber cart and then tried to push the cart through the front of the store without paying.

The loss prevention officer stopped Rowe outside the store, the report says.

Police responded and arrested Rowe, who was charged with larceny.
