Man Fends Off Knife-Wielding Robber in Davis Square Parking Lot

The alleged incident occurred Friday morning in the Day Street parking lot across from Flatbread Company.

A man called police to the Day Street parking lot, across from Flatbread Company in Davis Square, at about 7:30 a.m. Friday after another man allegedly tried to rob him at knifepoint.

The man told police that he had just exited his car in the parking lot when another man approached him with a knife and demanded his car keys. The man said he refused the suspect’s demands, so the suspect then attempted to physically take the keys.

After a struggle, the man said he was able to push the suspect away and yell for help, which caused the suspect to flee. The man chased the suspect, before losing him on Cottage Avenue.
