Man Breaks into Store with 'Donkey Kicks,' Says Report

The man and accomplices staged a play fight in order to kick open the store's door, a police report says.

A man and some accomplices used "donkey kicks" to break into Central Convenience on Mystic Avenue, and the man then stole chips and cigarettes, according to a Somerville police report.

The report says police arrested Jared Hiltz, 21, of Revere, and charged him with breaking and entering and conspiracy.

It says that at around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Hiltz and some other men used a ruse called "play fighting" in front of the store, and that during the ruse they began "donkey kicking" the wood panel of the store's front door.

Central Convenience is located at 472 Mystic Ave.

Having donkey kicked the door open, the report says, Hilz entered the store and took bags of chips, cigarettes and a small brown box that contained brown plastic bags.

The report says they then left the store and entered 460 Mystic Ave., which is part of Saint Polycarp Village.

Security cameras captured the whole incident, according to the report.

The above information was supplied by the Somerville Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
