Police: Three Arrested in Home Depot Parking Lot—a Narcotics "Hot Spot"

Undercover detectives on Friday arrested three men in the parking lot of Home Depot on drug charges, according to a Somerville police report.

One of the men allegedly had about 27 baggies of heroin in addition to marijuana, the report says.

The report calls the Home Depot parking lot a narcotics "hot spot," and it says detectives had perviously observed people shooting up in a parked car there.

At about 3 p.m. on Friday, undercover detectives who had set up surveillance in the area watched as one car pulled into the parking lot, according to the police report.

Detectives observed the occupant, identified as Liam Higgins, 37, of Boston, talk on the cell phone and hold up a hypodermic needle, the report says.

Soon, a second car parked near this one, and the driver, Enrique Rincon, 30, of Jamaica Plain, talked to Higgins and passed something to him, the report says.

In return, according to the report, Higgins passed cash to Rincon.

Detectives moved in, and according to the report Higgins put something in his mouth and swallowed and had a brown belt and hypodermic needle under his legs.

The report says detectives found several clear plastic baggies of what they believed to be heroin and another bag of what they believed to be marijuana in the door of Rincon's car.

According to the report, when detectives searched Higgins he had seven pills of Clonidine, which is sometimes used by opiate addicts, according to the National Center for Biotechnology Information website.

Police arrested Rincon and charged him with drug possession to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug law. They arrested Higgins and charged him with drug possession and conspiracy to violate drug law.

In addition, police arrested Theodore Zaborski, 44, of Quincy, who was a passenger in Higgins' car, and charged him with conspiracy to violate drug law. He was also arrested on a warrant for drug distribution.
