UPDATE: McGrath Reopening After Somerville FD Battled Auto Body Blaze

Two victims were treated for burns at the scene. A second alarm has been struck for the building fire, according to Fire Department radio transmissions.

Update, 11:40 a.m.: Emergency personnel are clearing the scene. As the equipment is removed, they are opening lanes on McGrath Highway.

Update 11:20 a.m.: Emergency officials will reopen Broadway imminently, according to radio reports.

Update 11 a.m.: The auto body shop in question is Fellsway Auto Repair. Fireifghters just radioed that the fire is knocked down and they are checking now for any extensions into the walls or ceiling.

Update, 10:50 a.m.: The fire is now apparently under control. Boston fireifghters are clearing the scene.

Update 10:50 a.m.: Crews from Boston, Medford and Cambridge have also responded to the fire.

Update, 10:45 a.m.: Fire companies from Chelsea and other communities are covering Somerville's stations as city firefighters handle the auto body shop fire. The heaviest fire has been knocked down, according to radio reports.

Update, 10:40 a.m.: Firefighters and EMS teams have treated four victims, two of which were employees at the auto body shop, according to firefighter radio transmissions.

Update, 10:35 a.m.: Massachusetts State Police have shut down McGrath Highway from Broadway to Mystic Avenue to assist firefighters fighting the blaze, according to the state police Twitter account. The fire is in an auto body shop.

Original post, 10:20 a.m.: Firefighters pulled two people out of a two-alarm fire on McGrath highway, according to public safety radio transmissions. The two victims suffered burns are being treated by an EMS team at the scene.

The fire is in a building at 775 McGrath Highway, near the intersection with Broadway, according to the radio reports. Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy smoke coming from the building and called for a second alarm.
