Car Crashes Into Mystic River Near Amelia Earhart Dam

The call came in about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Update, 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 29

The Boston Fire Department and Massachusetts State Police dive teams are responding to the Everett side of the dam. The rescued occupant was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, according to @Jay_Keane21 on Twitter.

Also, reports now that another occupant is possibly, not definitely, still in the vehicle or water.

The car is on the Everett side of the dam in about 20 feet of water, according to reports.

A correction to our initial post: Mystic View Road is on the Everett side of the Mystic River, alongside Gateway Center. However, it's currently unclear which road the car entered the water from.

Initial post, 11:24 p.m. Tuesday, April 29

A car was reported in the Mystic River, off Mystic View Road in Somerville, at about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to @stacos on Twitter.

The car is near the Amelia Earhart dam.

One occupant was rescued; another was believed to be still in the vehicle as of 11:24 p.m., according to @stacos.

The Boston Fire Department Dive Team was responding as of 11:24 p.m.
