The jury in the case of James "Whitey" Bulger has found Bulger guilty of 11 murders along with racketeering, conspiracy, money laundering and firearms charges.

Bulger was found guilty of 11 of the 19 murders he was charged with, the jury determined Monday afternoon.

Of the two murders alleged to have been committed in Somerville—those of Richard Castucci and James Sousa—the jury found Bulger guilty in the murder of Castucci.

Castucci was lured to an apartment in Somerville and killed on Dec. 30, 1976.

Sousa was allegedly lured to a garage in Somerville and killed in 1974.

Bulger was a key player in the Winter Hill Gang, which operated out of Somerville's Winter Hill during the 1960s and 1970s. When Bulger took over the gang following the imprisonment of its leaders, he moved its operations to Boston.

The jury had been deliberating for five days.

An announcement from the office of United States Attorney Carmen Ortiz said sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 13 and that Bulger faces up to life plus 30 years in prison.

However, Bulger's attorney, J.W. Carney, said Bulger "intends to take an appeal."
