A fire broke out at Suffolk Downs in Revere just before 6 p.m. Tuesday night and quickly went to three alarms.
The blaze reportedly started in the kitchen area of a two-story building. Flames could be seen shooting through the roof. Firefighters were ordered out of the structure and set up their attack from a safe distance.
The incident apparently spooked some horses that could be seen running around the property, according to WHDH/7News. Other horses were evacuated from the stables adjacent to the building on fire. Reports say 20 to 30 horses were relocated away from the fire building and none are currently reported injured.
Revere police said there were no immediate report of injuries, according to WHDH.
The racetrack was set to open this weekend for the season.
