Here are some suggestions on how to maximize fun this President's Day weekend.

It’s a holiday weekend – that means you have extra reasons to get out of the house, to events both local and not-so-far-away.

  • Why Go: Live tunes and $4 burgers

  • Where/When: Tufts University, Granoff Music Center/Thurs.-Sat, Feb. 17-19, at 8 p.m. Sunday matinee Feb. 20 at 3 p.m.
  • Why Go: According to the Tufts website, it’s a “brutal, scandalous, perverted, humorous, and hummable crowd pleaser” – plus there are celebrity appearances!
  • Pricing: Thursday 2/17 only: $5 general admission, $1 with Tufts ID. All others: $10 general admission, $5 with Tufts ID

  • Why Go: In the world of classic comedic theater, this one’s a must-see.

  • Where/When: Somerville City Club/Friday, February 18, 8 p.m.
  • Why Go: Learn to Swing Dance: Get a good workout without going to the gym–and have more fun than logging miles on a treadmill, too!
  • Pricing: $16, $12 with College ID

  • Where/When: Diesel Café/Friday, February 18, 7 p.m.
  • Why Go: Sip some of Somerville’s best hot chocolate while you browse the gallery of some of the best local artists.
