Richard Garrity, Retired Somerville High Art Teacher, Dies at 64

Richard M. Garrity, 64, of Medford, formerly of Somerville, who was a retired art teacher for Somerville High School, passed away suddenly Monday, Jan. 20, 2014. 

Beloved son of the late Mary E. (Kearns) and Vincent P. Garrity. Loving brother of Patricia A. and Donald J. Garrity, both of Somerville, Msgr. Paul V. Garrity of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Norwood, and David J. Garrity and his wife Karen of Medford. Dear uncle of Jonathan, Justine and Jason Garrity.

Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway, Powder House Square, Somerville, Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Clement Church, Somerville, at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Friday 3-7 p.m. Interment St. Paul’s Cemetery, Arlington.
