Obituary: Richard Russo, 86, Somerville Native

Russo died Friday, Jan. 31.

Richard F. Russo, a systems analyst, of Arlington, died at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014. Born in Somerville to the late Mark F. and Mildred “Tilly” (DeMarco) Russo on April 22, 1927, he was 86.

Richard was a graduate of Boston College and the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He enjoyed gardening and was a family oriented man that loved his grandchildren.

Predeceased by his beloved wife of 32 years, the late Sara E. (Monahan) Russo. He is survived by his loving children, Richard M. Russo, Sara J. Martin, John C. Russo, Elizabeth A. Dimitri, Carolyn M. Russo, Andrea E. Desrochers and the late Albert N. Russo; three sisters, Jeanne Richards, Beatrice Devine and Joyce Beaudet; and many loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Route 60 (adjacent to St. Agnes Church), Arlington, on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 9 a.m., followed by his funeral mass in Saint Agnes Church, 24 Medford St., Arlington, at 10 a.m. Burial is private. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
