Obituary: Gregory C. Janian, Owned Dollhouse Shop in Somerville

Janian died Tuesday, March 11.

Gregory C. Janian, of Somerville, died Tuesday in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. Born in Marseilles, France, he was the son of the late Cedric K. and Ermine (Moukjan) Yedidjanian. After World War II, Gregory spent time in Austria before coming to the United States. He settled in Somerville in 1948 where he owned and operated a store selling dollhouses.

Gregory was the beloved husband of Alice (Torosian) and devoted father of Jeanette Lee and her husband Tom of Medford, and the late Vanessa Janian. He was the loving grandfather of Jessica Green and her husband Andre of Somerville, Renée Lee of Medford, and the loving great grandfather of Madelynn Rose. He is also survived by his niece Natasha Glushko, her husband Stanley Golumbiyevski, and their son Artem, all of Fitchburg.

A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Saturday, March 15, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
