Obituary: Edward Reddin, Retired Somerville Police Officer

Edward Robert Reddin, of Somerville, died Friday, May 2, 2014. 

Beloved husband of Josephine (Sanfilippo). Loving father of Melissa Hickey and her husband Robert, Eric and his wife Rebekah and Michael and his wife Alicia. Cherished grandpa of Sean, Rosalie, Olivia and Gabriel. Son of Kathleen (Brennan) and the late Cecil Reddin. Brother of William Reddin, John MacDonald, Stephen Reddin, Karen Michalski and the late Kenneth Reddin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Vietnam veteran sergeant in the U.S. Army, 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions, recipient of the Bronze Star with Valor and Distinguished Member of the Regiment. Retired City of Somerville Police Officer, late member VFW Dilboy Post #529. 

Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway, Powder House Square, Somerville, Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Catherine Church, Somerville, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment MA National Cemetery, Bourne, Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
