What's the Somerville Weather Forecast for Halloween?

Does Mother Nature have a trick or treat in the forecast?

By Liz Taurasi and Chris Orchard

Nobody likes a cold Halloween. And even fewer people like a wet one.

Which brings us to the weather forecast for Halloween 2013, Thursday night.

The treat looks like it won't be too chilly, with highs in the upper 50s Thursday night. But a trick could be in store, too: While the forecast for rain is only 20 percent during the day, that jumps up to 70 percent in the evening, according to Weather.com.

Other weather websites aren't so pessimistic. Accuweather.com says there's about a 51 percent chance of showers around 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., but those chances diminish to below 40 percent by around 7 p.m. The National Weather Service says the chance of rain Thursday night is 50 percent.

Our advice: If you're dressing up, maybe incorporate an umbrella or raincoat into your costume this year. If you dress as a fisherman from "Deadliest Catch," you should be fine.
