New Somerville Current Events Show Debuts on Cable TV

The new Somerville TV show offers polished news segments about current events in the city.

Somerville Neighborhood News, a brand-new current events TV show produced by SCATV and dedicated to issues concerning Somerville, debuted Oct. 29 on the community access cable station.

The first episode offered polished news packages about things like immigration policy, local hiring initiatives and minimum wage advocacy. It also aired man-on-the-street interviews with residents and Somerville High School students (about the Board of Aldermen race and the Somerville School Committee, respectively).

It included a segment about the Mimi-Maker Faire that happened in Union Square in October, an interview with Somerville State Rep. Denise Provost and a check-in with Somerville Journal editor Dan Atkinson.

The show will air a new episode every two weeks on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. on SCATV, channel 3.

It's available online, and you can also watch the show above.
