Magazine Includes 6 Somerville Restaurants on Must Eat List

More proof that Somerville punches above its weight when it comes to Boston's restaurant scene. Just avoid getting in a match with Cambridge.

Somerville Patch recently posted about Boston Magazine's ill-conceived plan for Boston to annex Somerville (and Cambridge, and Brookline and other communities).

By the way, check out Mayor Joseph Curtatone's response to that proposal on his Facebook page.

In other Boston Magazine news, the cover story for the publication's November issue is "Where to Eat, Right Now."

The list includes six restaurants from Somerville: some old favorites and some newcomers to the city's dining scene.

They include:

  • Bergamot
  • Bronwyn
  • Highland Kitchen
  • Journeyman
  • The Kirkland Tap and Trotter
  • Spoke

No big surprises there, perhaps. But take a look at the list. It's dominated by restaurants from Boston (25 on the list), followed by Cambridge (13 on the list) and then ... Somerville. Those were the only three communities with multiple restaurants on the list.

That means Cambridge has more "Where to Eat, Right Now" restaurants per capita than anywhere, but Somerville has nearly twice as many, per capita, than Boston.
