"One Sings, the Other Doesn't" - An Evening with Glenn Jones & Nina Violet

Guitarist Glenn Jones is a unique voice working in the decades-long tradition of American Primitivism. What sets him apart from the many devotees to this style is the combination of expressive playing and technical skill, most significantly his inventive use of alternate tunings and partial capos. The compostions on Glenn's most recent recording, "My Garden State", are evocative and redolent, and serve as a testament to Glenn's talent for conveying a wide array of emotions, many times in one tune, without saying a word. "My Garden State" made NPR's "Best Albums of 2013" as well as MOJO magazine's "Best 50 Releases of 2013".
Nina Violet hails from Martha's Vineyard where she was classically trained from childhood on viola. Nina performs on and arranges for the entire family of string instruments and plays guitar, banjo, mandolin, and keyboards. Her music organically blends poetic lyrics, lush orchestration, and even some punk sensibility into something truly timeless and original.
Glenn & Nina are fans of each other's music though this will be the first time they have shared a stage together.
