LIBANA in CONCERT! Return from Marrakesh ~ Songs and Stories of the Moroccan Landscape

Riveting and soul stirring, Libana,
the internationally acclaimed world music ensemble, takes audiences on a
musical journey illuminating the creativity, vision and spirit of women
worldwide and reflecting the universal human experience uniting us all.

Please join LIBANA for a special evening
of global music, dance, story and song--as they share recollections and
experiences from their exhilarating tour to Morocco in June!

Libana's foray to North Africa
brought the honor of being the first musicians to represent the US at the Tarab
Tanger World Music Festival in Tangier. Preceding this Moroccan debut, Libana
spent 17 days traversing the stunning and ever changing landscape of Morocco
meeting with musicians, dancers, healers and cooks along the way. From
gathering with Gnaoua musicians in Essaouira on the Atlantic Coast, to
experiencing the profound energy of Sufi singers and percussionists in a tiled
living room in Fes, to spontaneously dancing and singing with women at an argan
oil collective outside Marrakesh, to participating in an ancient indigenous
rain ritual at an oasis village on the Sahara desert...Libana put into practice
their belief in the power of cultural diplomacy--one song, one rhythm and one
dance at a time.
