Hammered Realm: The Ever-Present Cimbalom

The Ludovico Ensemble, founded in 2002 by artistic director Nicholas Tolle and currently serving as the Ensemble-in-Residence at Boston Conservatory, presents works featuring the cimbalom, a Hungarian instrument similar to the hammered dulcimer. World premieres by several notable Boston and Tufts student composers grace the program, including pieces by John McDonald, Marti Epstein, Mischa Salkind-Pearl, and Meng Tian, as well as Peter Maxwell Davies' monumental "Image, Reflection, Shadow".

Tickets are free with a Tufts ID card (limit two per ID) and $10 for general admission. Call 617.627.3679 for tickets.
