The Agbekor Drum and Dance Society (http://agbekorsociety.org/) based in Somerville, Ma, has partnered with Richard Saunders, the music director for the Somerville Public Schools to provide a free workshop on African dance and music to youth. It is a rare chance for Somerville students to learn West African dance from a star African dancer. On May 5th there will be a free workshop at West Somerville Middle School taught by Ghana’s-- Nani Agbeli (http://naniagbeli.me/). This is all thanks to a grant from Club Passim’s Iguana Music Fund!
