DARBI Annual Event Midnight Madness--Davis Square Opens Its Doors for Festive Late Night Shopping

Local Businesses Offer Exclusive Sales and Socializing for Holiday Shoppers


Canned Food Drive to benefit Somerville Homeless Coalition at 5:30 pm


The Davis Area Resident/Business Initiative (DARBI) (YourDavisSquare.com) announces its annual December Midnight Madness shopping event, offering exclusive sales until midnight at a collection of Davis Square retail stores and restaurants, on Thursday, December 6, 2012.

Between the hours of 6 p.m. and 12:00 midnight, shoppers will be able to shop at such Davis Square favorites as Artifaktori, Comicazi, Magpie, Davis Squared, Dave’s Fresh Pasta (open only til 10 PM), Kickass Cupcakes, and When Pigs Fly, as well as newer retailers in the Square including The Boston Shaker, Found, Maximum Hesh, Sunshine Lucy’s, and What’s Nü. Many retailers will offer live music, hors d'oeuvres, and drinks to keep the atmosphere lively. Dave’s Fresh Pasta will offer their popular wine and cheese tastings. Some Davis Square restaurants will offer coupons or specials to shoppers during the event.


To kick off the event, the public is invited to bring canned goods to Thalia Tringo & Associates Real Estate (TTRE) office at 128 Willow Ave. (on the bike path) at 5:30pm for the Somerville Homeless Coalition(SomervilleHomelessCoalition.org). TTRE will host an art opening of "Fracture", paintings by Alyson Schultz, with beverages and hors d'ouevres. The office will also sell Mr. Davis t-shirts, caps, and bibs to benefit DARBI.
