"Boston's Gardens & Green Spaces"

Meg Muckenhoupt, author of "Boston's Gardens & Green Spaces", Union Park Press, 2010, is the featured speaker at the December meeting of the Somerville Garden Club. Her articles on local environmental issues have appeared in the Boston Globe, the Boston Phoenix, Boston Magazine, and Time Out Boston. Muckenhoupt has appeared on NPR's Radio Boston and WCVB's Chronicle, and is the co-creator of the Green Spaces: Boston smart phone app. Audiences throughout New England have enjoyed her talks on Mass. landscape history. With chapters ranging from the Emerald Necklace to community gardens, "Boston's Gardens & Green Spaces" is an exploration of both contemporary public spaces and the parks, botanic gardens, and estates that are a significant part of Boston's history. All nature lovers, gardeners, and history buffs will enjoy this lecture.

The Somerville Garden Club meets the second Wednesday of every month; the public is invited to attend, free of charge. Parking is available onsite, and the building is a short walk from the Davis Square Redline T station. Meetings are on the second floor, wheelchair accessible.
