"Boston Gardens & Green Spaces"

    Meg Mauckenhoupt, author of "Boston's Gardens & Green Spaces, (Union Park Press, 2010), is the featured speaker at the December meeting of the Somerville Garden Club. Her articles on local environmental issues have appeared in the Boston Globe, the Boston Phoenix, Boston Magazine, and Time Out Boston. Mauckenhoupt has appeared on NPR's Radio Boston and WCVB's Chronicle,and is the co-creator of the Green Spaces: Boston smart phone app. She gives frequent talks on Mass. landscape history to audiences throughout New England. "Boston's Gardens & Green Spaces", with chapters ranging from the Emerald Necklace to community gardens, is an exploration of both the newest green spaces and the parks, botanic gardens, and estates that are a significant part of Boston's history. All nature lovers, garden enthusiasts, and history buffs will enjoy this lecture.


    The Somerville Garden Club meets the second Wednesday of every month; all meetings are free and the public is invited to attend.
