Divest the Commonwealth: A Panel of Local Climate Heroes

Join Tufts Divest for Our Future on Tuesday November 12th for a panel and dessert reception focused on local and statewide efforts to address the climate crisis. Today, Massachusetts is leading the fight against climate change with State Senate Bill S1225 which, if passed, will divest the state’s pension funds from the fossil fuel industry. The panel will be an opportunity to hear from Massachusetts state legislators including Tufts alumnus and sponsor of the bill, Senator Ben Downing, as well as local elected officials Senator Patricia D. Jehlen, Representative Denise Provost and Representative Carl Sciortino. Come learn about state divestment and deliberate about the intersection of climate change and public policy with the greater Tufts community. Dessert reception and meet and greet following the event.
