ComedySportzBoston, the fast-paced, family-friendly improvisational comedy played as a sport, Opens at Davis Square Theatre
ComedySportz (CSz) Boston, the fast-paced, family-friendly improvisational comedy played as a sport, that’s a hit in Chicago, Philadelphia, New York and Portland, - it is coming to Greater Boston. Audiences who like “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” will love ComedySportz Boston’s fast paced action which incorporates audience’s suggestions in every show. CSz’s match features two teams of ‘actletes’ competing for laughs and points, with a referee keeping things moving and calling fouls. Like all good sporting events, the National Anthem starts things off. An average of seven to twelve games are played during a match, drawn from a repertoire of over a hundred improv games. Every show offers different players, different games, and different audiences supplying new suggestions. The fans judge the scenes and games and ultimately decide the winners and losers. On occasion a ComedySportz team asks “willing volunteers” to join in the fun
ComedySportz is great for all ages, from young kids to grandparents. If an ‘actlete” steps beyond the boundaries of good taste, the "brown bag foul" (a brown paper sack placed over the offending player's head) will be called to set things straight. ComedySportz even works for tough-to-please business groups.
