Community Corner

ALS Skatefest

On Presidents’ Day, Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Community Ice Skating @Kendall rink from 9-11am, skaters of all ages will hit the ice to support ALS TDI in our mission to END ALS at ALS Skatefest.

Children will be encouraged to pledge a number of laps to complete around the rink on event day, and will ask family and friends – their “sponsors” – to pledge a dollar amount per completed lap. Our top two fundraisers will win either Four Tickets to Canobie Lake Park or a Family Four Pack for a Boston Harbor Cruises Whale Watch. Our #1 fundraiser wins the prize of his or her choice!

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a neurodegenerative disorder that paralyzes the body but leaves the mind intact. Patients, on average, live between two to five years after diagnosis. There is no cure.

ALS TDI is the world’s most advanced research center focused exclusively on solving the ALS crisis. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and the only independent ALS organization that both raises its own funds and directs its own research.

All registrants receive two hours of skate time, included skate rentals, and unlimited hot chocolate and espresso drinks. Register now and download your Fundraising Packet for ALS Skatefest at www.als.net/skatefest

Admission:
$20 per adult
$10 per child (children under 3 skate for free)

Spend $70 or more on registration and automatically receive a 20% discount!
