Sen. John Kerry was in Davis Square Monday to endorse Senate Candidate Elizabeth Warren. Kerry said the race between Warren and incumbent Sen. Scott Brown could determine which party takes control of the Senate in 2013.

A fire gutted the first floor of a home on Pearl Street, near McGrath Highway, Tuesday morning. Seven people were displaced, and so was a cat.

Film crews were on Hudson Street Thursday and Friday to film scenes from a made-for-TV movie starring Julia Stiles.

Ex-Somerville Priest in Child Molestation Case Found Dead
The former priest of Saint James Episcopal Church in Teele Square was arrested and charged, in early September, with sexual assaulting a child when he served in Somerville in the 1990s and 2000s. On Wednesday night he was found dead in a car on the sixth floor of a Government Center parking garage.

Howie Winter, 83, former head of the notorious Winter Hill Gang in Somerville, was indicted by a Middlesex Grand Jury Thursday on charges of extortion.

Mayor Announces "Reboot" of Lincoln Park Rehab Plans
