A car rolled over and caught fire Sept. 1 on Interstate 93 northbound in Somerville. As a result, the highway was shut down for 15 minutes as emergency workers extricated the 49-year-old unlicensed driver.

A fire at a two-story home in West Somerville displaced five people on Labor Day, including a family of four. The fire caused about $300,000 in damage.

After pulling over a car in a routine traffic stop on Sept. 1, Somerville police discovered eight handguns in the car. Three men, including an 18-year-old Somerville resident, were arrested.
