Apartment Complex Could Reshape Corner of East Somerville
An proposed apartment complex in East Somerville could reshape an area that borders Interstate 93. Criterion Development Partners, with offices in Waltham and Dallas, is proposing a 120-unit, four-story building that would be built on a parcel of land currently owned by Stop & Shop.
Boston Breakers Soccer Returns to Somerville in April
The Boston Breakers, a top women's soccer team, returns to Somerville this spring after an exciting offseason for the team and for women's pro soccer in the Unites States. When the Breakers open their season April 14 at Dilboy Stadium, they'll be part of a new professional women's soccer league, and their ties to Somerville will be even stronger.
City's election season begins to take shape
The city will hold elections this fall, and some more people declared themselves as candidates this week. In Ward 1, represented for 17 years by former Alderman William Roche until he stepped down in December, Elio LoRusso announced he was running. Maureen Bastardi, who was appointed to replace Roche after serving nine years on the School Committee, said she was also running. We also had a short conversation with Laura Pitone, who's running for School Committee in Ward 5. Somerville Patch plans to talk to more candidates as election season progresses.
