Ward 4 ResiStat Meeting Reminder, Retail Workshop and Documentary Films

Plus, an upcoming meeting where early results of the ongoing CAFEH studies (Community Assessment of Freeway Exposure & Health) will be revealed.

Today is Monday, May 9. Here are five things you should know today, Somerville.

1. Reminder: tonight is the Ward 4 Neighborhood Meeting hosted by the City of Somerville ResiStat program. It runs for 6:30-8pm in the Winter Hill Community School cafeteria, 115 Sycamore Street. More information can be found here

2.  The Mystic River Watershed Association, Denise Provost and Somerville Climate Action are sponsoring the showing of 2 short documentary films this evening at : “Waters of Missi-Tuk” and “The Work of 1000.” This event is free and open to all, from 7-9pm.

3. Tomorrow morning at 8:30 the ‘Best Retail Practices’ workshop will be held in the Aldermanic Chambers, City Hall. The program is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development Office (OSPCD) and is delivered by Christine Moynihan from RetailVisioning. 4. SAVE THE DATE: Federally funded CAFEH studies (Community Assessment of Freeway Exposure & Health) are ongoing, but on Thursday, May 19, at a public meeting, the group will present a mid-study report on both human and environmental data collected in Somerville. The project hopes to use the information to inform key policymakers. This meeting 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Mystic Activity Center, 535 Mystic Ave., Somerville.
