Somerville Resident Competes in Miss Boston and Miss Cambridge Competition

Biliana Mihaylova is one of 16 women competing. The winners are expected to be crowned Sunday.

A Somerville resident is competing in the Miss Boston and Miss Cambridge Pageant, according to an announcement from pageant organizers.

Biliana Mihaylova is one of 16 women in the competition. Two women will be crowned: Miss Boston and Miss Cambridge, and the winners will move on to compete in the Miss Massachusetts competition.

The competition was scheduled to take place Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Park Plaza Hotel, 50 Park Plaza, in Boston.

Here's what pageant organizers said about Mihaylova:

Biliana, a resident of Somerville, is currently working at Ocean Spray Cranberries where she hopes to develop her management skills to own a business. She received a graduate degree from Northeastern University where she graduated in three years with honors. Currently training for her first half-marathon, Biliana believes that exercise is fundamental parts of each day and will advocate for her platform “Beyond Hunger: Increasing Education and Access to Nutrition.” Biliana is also very enthusiastic about all types of dance and will perform a modern hip hop dance.

The winners of the competition will receive $8,000 in scholarships and prizes, according to organizers.
